On the market full of big names that have been dominating for decades, Feed and Go are a breath of fresh air and something of a phenomenon in the pet products industry. It was founded only 6 years ago, in January 2012, by a young pet owner couple who were disappointed by the lack of modern, technologically advanced pet feeders. So, they decided to take matters into their own hand, and they designed what they call the world’s first smart pet feeder. This product that revolutionized the pet product market was the Feed and Go automatic pet feeder.
But before I go into an in-depth analysis of this feeder and explain what’s so innovative about it, you might be wondering…
Why do I need an automatic pet feeder?
If you’re reading this article, chances are that you’re already familiar with automatic pet feeders, or might have even purchased them. But, if you’ve been feeding your pets the old-fashioned way up till now, this is a question that might have popped into your head.
Well, the biggest benefit of an automatic pet feeder is that it feeds your pet when you’re not able to do it yourself, for one reason or another. This means that your pet will no longer wake you up at 5:30 a.m. demanding to be fed by barking or meowing loudly. You can just set up your automatic feeder and get a guilt-free good night’s rest. Automatic pet feeders are also a great choice for pet owners who love to travel.
The two main types of automatic pet feeders are electronic feeders and gravity feeders. Gravity feeders rely on gravity to give your pet access to fresh food at all times. Electronic feeders use electronics to give your pet fixed portions of food at scheduled times. For example, the Feed and Go feeder that I’m going to review is an electronic feeder.
Feed and Go Automatic Pet Feeder Review
Also called the Feed and Go Smart Pet Feeder, or just Feed and Go, this is currently the only product manufactured and sold by Feed and Go Inc. It was the world’s first electronic feeder that could connect to your Wi-Fi and allow you to control your pet’s meal by using your computer or smartphone. Since then, other pet product manufacturers have embraced this idea and developed similar products.
Feed and Go is best suited for the more tech-savvy pet owners, and if you’re not very good with computers or smartphones, this may not be the right feeder for you. But if you’re a typical young adult that can’t imagine leaving the house without your phone, Feed and Go is going to make you and your pet’s lives easier. You just need to download the free iOS or Android app, which you can use to set a feeding schedule for unlimited Feed and Go feeders from one profile, allowing you to feed your pet from anywhere and at any time.
You can use Feed and Go to give your pets both dry and wet food, as well as treats or medicine, and it’s suitable for both cats and dogs. It also has a built-in camera that lets you check up on your beloved pet. What I like best about this feeder is that, once a schedule has been set, it will work even if it loses its Wi-Fi connection. The tray itself is made of pet friendly plastic, has 6 feeding slots, and is dishwasher safe.
The biggest downisde of this pet feeder is the fact that it is very hard to find on the market. That is why I would recommend you to check out my post about other pet feeders on the market that are similar to this one with design and price.
Pros: It can be used from anywhere, and it will work even it loses its Wi-Fi connection. It’s easy to clean.
Cons: Not suited for pet owners who aren’t very comfortable with modern technology.
Conclusion: Is Feed ‘N’ Go Worth The Money?
The Feed And Go pet feeder is made with quality materials and it has impressive features, but I wouldn’t recommend it simply because it is hard to find on the market. There are similiar models to this one and you can easily find them on big webshops like Amazon or Walmart. The good thing is that you can choose between electronic and gravity feeders. You can also find automatic pet waterers and even elevated dog feeders for more comfortable eating made for large doog breeds.
